Pete Irvine, sometimes better known as 'Irishmanlost', was born and educated in Belfast but has also lived in London and Brazil. His love for photography developed early in life and his passion is for capturing urban decay, recording the many historical buildings that are gradually disappearing from our landscape.
He visited his first derelict building with a camera in 2005 and was instantly hooked. Now he travels all over Ireland and beyond, finding entry into places unseen by the public, capturing their stories as well as the beauty that pervades this kind of subject matter. Pete sensitively captures their unique and often sombre atmosphere through carefully composed images and fine details. He also enjoys photographing the scenery around the beautiful North Antrim coast where he now lives.
All of his photographs come double mounted in sizes ranging from 8 x 6” to 20 x 16”, retailing from £5 to £35. He sells his work directly to the public at the Ballycastle town market and other craft fairs, which are held on various weekends from Easter right through to Christmas. And he is happy to take orders on request. Pete readily uses his facebook page as a platform to blog about his latest work as well as upcoming events and also showcases a number of images on his website.
